Post-Holiday Thoughts

In general, I dislike the two months following Christmas.

I love the holiday season.  The music, the sappy movies, buying/wrapping/giving gifts, and all of the silly little family traditions that end up making it a special time with family and friends.  I watched "The Santa Clause" so many times in December that my husband threatened to block ABC Family.

(No need for that.  I have the DVD.)

But now, we're into January.  It's cold and the weather is crappy here.  It's dark when I get up in the morning.  The Toddler is sick all the time.  My Christmas decorations are up and I feel like I should take them down, but I can't make myself do it yet.  Maybe next weekend.  We're still enjoying the tree and the lights.  A little extra happiness isn't hurting anyone, right?

2014 was an interesting year for me, but I am honestly not sorry to see it go.  I am thinking that 2015 will have its interesting moments as well, but I am hopeful and optimistic that the changes it will bring will be for the positive.

I am going to try to keep up with this blog, though I can't promise that my entries will be of interest to anyone but me.  I kept a LiveJournal for a while, but when I was looking through it, I've used it mostly as a fansite for my favorite things...Ryan Star's music, Penguins hockey, and some random things here and there.  I think I am going to keep the LJ and continue to use it for those types of entries.  This blog will probably be much more random.

I'm going to leave this here to start, but I will update over the weekend.  I am not a fan of New Year's resolutions, but I am going to list some goals for 2015 and maybe that will help keep me accountable.
